To cover the development of the Internet in all its facets is by far no longer possible. For a long time the Internet has not been a mere IT topic. Political, social, economical, legal, and many more influences essentially co-determine the technological development.

In five main areas that are of special importance to us information will be gathered and discussed. This information will play a significant role for current developments in the broad environment of the Internet. Here the THESEUS Joint Research team will provide work and research results of the project as well as assess - more or less detailed - current developments.

All visitors to this portal are invited to participate in gathering information and in discussions with their own contributions. The spectrum of contributions – ranging from a short description of the project to a critical statement and to the point of scientific research work – has deliberately not been limited. However, mere irrelevancies and rude insults shall be banned from this small part of the World Wide Web.
